    Thanks Gem68 and Ellabelles.
Re car - I've not driven for over a yr but hubby did till emergency op in Nov - he has another op coming up and probably hoping to be well enough to go out after - he usually only visited his mum twice a week anyway. Suppose we could ahve cancelled insurance for a while but its dsort of like talking about something you don't wnat to acknowledge - not yet anyway.
The insurance for that car is £16 a month and the £4 on top is AA but that covers hubby and son.
After reading on here from you good people I have joined Quidco (got AA with £50 off so half price and £25 off my Ancestry membership - one one hobby) and also Topcashexpert. Do the clicks every day and also managed to get lots of stuff for my present drawer through tips on the grabbit baord in Jan so now have most birthdays and Xmas sorted anyway - aprt form sons who have money.

You might be able to reduce your energy bill by setting your washing machine to come-on during cheap-rate periods (if it doesn't have a timer delay feature, then you can pick-up a timer for less than £10 for 3 from Wickes). It might be possible to apply the reverse principle to other stuff like your router by having the timer turn-off the power between, say, 11.30 and 8.00.
BTW, Topcashback offers the same deals as Quidco, but without any fees.

Mutualpoints is worth signing up to as you get paid to click-through from emails. They also do clickthroughs to surveys, so you can quickly earn enough points to cash-in for money.
