Hi - you could do your own dmp through one of the charities such as National Debtline or CCCS or see your local CAB. None of your expenses either jointly or singly look particularly high so not a lot of scope for saving there. It does look like you both pay about 50% of the general household bills which is fair enough as your incomes aren't miles apart.
The major problem I can see is that by going on a dmp it will affect your credit rating and as I understand it because you have joint financial products - ie a mortgage (in both names?), joint accounts? etc then your other halfs credit rating will also be affected. It is important that you have a chat with your other half about things really. Perhaps he can take on slightly more of the household bills so you can pay your debts? can you increase your income at all to allow you to pay the debts?
If the mortgage was in one persons name then perhaps you could close the joint account , get your other half to get a notice of disassociation on his credit file to say you weren't linked anymore and then you could do a dmp without affecting his credit file but I suspect thatwith the mortgage this is not likely to be possible.
I would have a chat with one of the debt charities.

If you're considering giving up Body Shop, would you not consider being an Ann Summers organiser? I do 1 or 2 parties a week and average £70 per party, although last night I earned £160 in 3 hours! It does take organisation and a certain level of acceptance, but the rewards are there. I work out I'm picking up an extra £220+ each monthLBM: 22.12.2010 :j Self-managed DMP start 29.1.2011DMP Mutual Support Thread No: 4130
