When does my credit agreement get updated?

Ive been paying a DCA for a Capital One CC I lost control of. I have been paying them since October 2010 but the crdeit agreement on Equifax shows only a default registered in 2009 and no update since.
Should this have been updated as it is now being paid (albeit gradually) or will it only be updated when the debt is paid off?
