Need to bake treats but need help as no money left!

I have literally enough money left in my grocery budget this month just to buy milk, so I need help.
We have no biscuits or cakes left in the treat tin and I really want to bake something.
I have:
500g SR flour
bag of Xmas cake mix (no fruit, just the floury bit)
about 50-100g icing sugar
oats
about 100g honey
raisins
1/2 black banana
about 1/4 tin of treacle.
Baking marg
eggs

So, as you can see, I have no plain flour, no sugar or syrup. ( Used the last of it to make parkin yday than got to the end of the recipe and saw that you have to leave it for a week before eating!!!! So my treat tins are full, we just can't eat it!!)

Any suggestions more than welcome. I have looked through my recipes but couldn't find anything to make.

    I just opened the bag of cake mix and licked a bit off my finger. It tastes a bit spicy and slightly sweet, so it maybe already has sugar in it. It was a whoopsied broken box for about 30p and I have already used the dried fruit and marzipan out of it.

  • I just found this site: http://www.honeyrecipes.org.uk/Cakes.html which has some lovely honey recipes in. I particularly like the look of the Golden Crunch recipe and might have a go at making some of it myself. :)

    You could do scotch pancakes or crepes.
    Sultana/raisin scones
    twinks, make a half batch and use the icing sugar and honey instead of golden syrup, someone was telling me yesterday that they only use half the sugar and honey instead of golden syrup.
    shortbread biscuits, could put oats and raising in to make them a bit different

  • How about honey cake? http://www.allbakingrecipes.com/baking-recipes/sponges-plain-cakes-roulades/simple-honey-cake.php I know you have no caster sugar, but for that small amount you could probably get away with leaving it out (or there may be another recipe somewhere which doesn't need it) or I have used granulated before if you have any of that. And flapjacks with raisins? I don't make flapjacks really so not sure if you need more ingredients than you have.

    I would think you can probably bake that on its own, without the fruit, don't know if you might need some baking powder to lift it a bit though.

    I've yet to try this recipe, but 952 testers can't be wrong.

    EDIT: Just saw that you have 100g of icing sugar, so you can make half a batch instead (100g = about 4oz). Since it's self-raising flour I don't really see why you need any bicarb. I've never needed to add bicarb to self-raising flour before.

    On the honey recipes site (thanks KB) there is just one thing I could make.... 1/2 a honey banana cake. I have the ingreds except for the brown sugar.

    I would love to make some twinks hobnobs as the kids looooove them, but not sure how to sub with icing sugar. how much to use?

    Thanks JackieG for suggesting scones. Could do those with maybe just a tiny wee bit of icing sugar in the mix to sweeten them a wee bit.
    Just realised I can't do a tear&share type bread as I don't have bread flour. If I thought I could use the wholemeal bread mix and make it light and fluffy, I would try, but it always turns out too dense. So i don't think it would be a tasty treat for the kids, more of a chore lol!

    Icing sugar is just fine sugar. You can make it yourself by grinding caster sugar in a blender. TBH I'm not sure if it would make a difference to the consistency, but the weight is going to be the same -- just like the old puzzle of whether a ton of lead is heavier than a ton of feathers. They both weigh a ton, so it makes no difference.
