..and re the posting of blog links.....
It has now been definitely confirmed that the posting of blog links IS okay:D - ie by both MSE Andrea and The Man Himself (ie MSE Martin) on the thread I posted on the Site Feedback Board about this.
So - thats a definite okay - that it IS okay for us all to post any blog links we like (within the rule of - as long as they arent either our own or that of a friend).:T0 -

It's a bit nonsensical here. I only live a mile from Tesco but they refuse to do home delivery here as they say they would have to cover the islands too. *confused*. My nearest Asda and Sainsbury's are 100 miles away.0 -

I find the lack of temptation saves me the delivery fee, plus if it's hard work getting to and from AND dragging the girls around the store I'd have thought that it's worth the cost? If you do Sainsburys midweek and spend over £100 then it's free delivery - I do this on a six weekly basis so I spend £100 and then just top up bits and pieces from Lidl or the nasty Tesco.
Once you've got your favourites set up then it's quick to go through and order and then someone else does the hard work!
My Ex OH was really anti online grocery shopping but he wasn't the one who had to drag around the supermarket which I find really tedious - I stitched him right up by taking him to Tesco at Eastville at 6pm on a Friday night - saying "right, we're going to do a months shopping as I'm not coming back to do it again" - we got about three aisles in with him saying "let's just get what we need for this weekend" and me insisting we did a months worth - then he gave in and we ordered online after that
So many bristolains on os.Hubby hates eastville tesco too.
My mate once said she found it bit scary in there.

Hello all and thanks for the lovley warm welcome back...after taking the young one to nursery this morning I went back home and decided to do a food stocktake:eek: there is real lot of it, Monty and his allotment and mine went beserk last year, my first time and it was chocka, and intend it to be the same this year. Will keep both on as Montys boss is muttering about selling his massive house and land and going abroad so we will need this space for veggie growing if he does this, Montys worried about bieng a unemployed gardener.. hes applied for a part time job with the local argricultural college to teach arboculture or something like that I call it tree chopping down, he just gives me a shes woman doesnt understand smile, plus sideline to that is free logs sometimes.
why when you think youve got life sussed someone moves the goalposts ah well the more they move the more we adjust wont be licked by this..
So nice to hear from you again Annie56! - times are getting sure getting tough but you have abundant riches in things that money can't buy - an adoring OH, a loving family and a very special event to look forward to. :T You've travelled a long way since your first posts to find the happiness you deserveGod love you
- wish you all the best x
We are planning our allotment with care too - we are both in low paid jobs (not complaining as we are lucky to be working) but the rising food prices are a pretty constant worry when you have a fixed income . . . . and Christmas presents will be all of the HM variety this year.
Thrilled to see our little rhubarb patch in our tiny back garden has miracliously managed to survive the long hard winter and is showing signs of life. An inspection of our half allotment at the weekend showed we have inherited a lovely vigorous patch of rhubarb there too - which is a bonusHoping to be able to identify the three mystery bushes that are now in bud - guess won't know for sure until we see the leaves out.
Still sticking to the 'nothing new in 2011' - even CS shopping is out of the question at the moment as lost a crown recently so scraping like mad to be able to pay the dentist at the end of the month when treatment will be completed.
Census forms have arrived today - so that will be DH kept busy for a few hours tonight - cheap and OS entertainment!
I'm a Sainsburys Basic fan - luckily for me Sainsbury, Lidl, Farm Foods, the market and Aldi are only a few streets apart in town so its fairly easy to shop around to get the bargains of the week - Hovis is back down to 2 for £1 at Farm Foods but tinned tomatoes are up to 3 for £1 . . . .:heartpuls The best things in life aren't things :heartpuls

Re online shopping, I've used it for years pretty well since Tesco first started. In the early days it was really problematic, lots of substitutions, lots of items not delivered to the point that it was almost unusable - if you didn't get half of what you ordered and had to go somewhere to shop it defeated the object of paying for delivery!
Since then it's got much better and I get very very few substitutions or not availables and on the whole the quality of fruit, veg and meat is very good.
It does take a bit of fiddling to get used to shopping online but for us, now we're more rural it's much cheaper to get it delivered than to drive to go shopping.
I always used to use Sainsburys online when we were still in Bristol but at the time we moved back to Dorset it was only Tesco who delivered so I switched but since just before Christmas Sainsbugs deliver to us as well so my last couple of deliveries have been Sainsbury's - I do prefer some of the Basics stuff and their delivery is free (midweek >£100). I price matched Tesco and Sainsbugs when I did the first couple of orders and there were some items that were cheaper on S and some on T. There are some items from T that I prefer and I will probably settle into a routine of alternating deliveries.Piglet

Yes, you definitely can do this. In fact, I insist on it as then while it's cooking away you could get your feet up and have a nap for 20 minutes.0
