Seems like the best place to ask

Little backstory, my Mum has run up an amount of debt which she has (after a little persuasion by myself) taken steps recently to address. She's now working with CAB Scotland in order to get her finances under control (not a massive amount, but enough to trigger some unpleasant actions!) and pay off the debt. (i should note, she works full time and i'm currently between jobs, so i field the majority of phonecalls throughout the day)

Now for months we've had up to 10 phone calls a day whereby when i pick up the phone, there's no one there. If it was 1 every once in a while i wouldn't think about it, but it's on average 3 a day, all from the same number - you don't need to be a member of CID to know that's more than coinicidence. A quick google search has unearthed something i think rather interesting - said number is apparently a Barclaycard thing, a company who have been told that she's working on solutions to her problems and have been asked to cease pestering her!

Now i'm looking for advice before i go shooting off at Barclaycard, this qualifies under the malicious communications act if i'm not mistaken - would it be best to complain to Barclaycard directly or some other trade body? I'm the first to admit i'm hot headed, to the point where i told one company in a politically incorrect term to go forth and multiply with themselves hastilly! (this lead to me paying them off - thankfully never to hear from them again!) So the last thing i want to do is to land Mum in more hot water than she's already in - god love her she is already upset enough at the fact i've stepped in to give her a LBM, unfortunately more than once.

The number in question is 0845 3007027 - if anyone else has heard of it!

    Hi

The OFT blasted companies for doing this the other week. Go on the OFT web-site and then write and complain to BC and the OFT.
