  • Hello, I bought one in Spain during the summer and it works fine. I am hoping to get another one from Washington so I just presumed it would work. Thanks for asking the question.

There is no region code type of lock on the DS so a US game will play on a UK DS and UK games on a US DS.

Spain is classed as Europe as is the UK so there is no difference between the DS anyway.

As for where to buy one? J&R are pretty good down near Wall street cheap but ignorant staff. $130 in their store, toyrus is the same price. You should be able to find discount coupons for j&r in most hotel guide books etc.

You can also try the crappy electrical stores on Broadway but be prepared for the hard sell on every accessory for the DS. ask for the price if it is good buy it if not then say thanks and leave, dont hang around in the store after you have indicated what you are looking to buy some stores they will stck to you like s**t pestering you.

dont forget the low allowence you have for bringing stuff to the UK
  • Not sure if its worth it.
    1. Add tax to all prices you see in the US. Tax varies between states.
    2. Check if the charger is multivoltage. You may need to buy a new one (or get a US-UK plug converter as a minimum).
    3. Check guarantee. Probably not valid here.
It may be better to buy one from the duty free on the way out??

I've recently bought one in Toys'R'Us in New York, A DS Lite package is $149 with Spyro game and Starter Kit.
Handhelds are not regionalised, so all hardware & software are comparible over here.
