taste card trouble

has anyone had experience with the tastecard i got this a month ago went to use at a restaurant & they refused it was meant to be getting 50% off so wasnt very pleased emailed the taste people but have so far not heard anything what a con !

Did you call them to book a table and tell them you intended to use the card - then show them it again when you got there? That's the procedure that most places go by..•

yes followed the procedure in full, i am fully aware how it works used a similar system with the gourmet card had no problems with them.0

Have had these types of card before and have found that by the time you adhere to terms and conditions (jump through lots of hoops) it ends up the same price as just going to the normal happy hour/special offers avaiable to the normal punters.0

I had a Taste Card for a 3-month free trial and it saved me loads of money. I didn't have problems using it anywhere, but I made sure I mentioned it when booking and on arrival. Sure, if you use it in the usual pizza/pasta chains then it's no better than the special offers and voucher deals, but for independent restaurants that don't have such deals it's fab. 6 of us went for a 3-course lunch at a country gastro-pub and saved £80 on that meal alone!0

If I had agreed with them when I made the booking that I was going to use a taste card and they didn't accept it when it was time to pay, I would have refused to pay them until they applied the discount. What can they do?0
