8mm tape to dvd from camcorder with no digital access?

hi i have lots of 8mm films that i want to transfer onto dvd, the camcorder i have has no digital output holes (sorry only way i know how to describe ) i would luv to put the film on dvd for my daughters 18th but dont know how , would rather do it myself , what equipment do i need , is it easy and most of all how expensive ?, thanks
