What if I've moved?

Hi I've moved home a couple of times in the last few years. Does anyone have any advice / experience on reclaiming charges on accounts (now closed) held at a former address? I think I've still got some statements with the account no's that I can dig out.
Thanks in advance!

Oh yes. Just contact the bank for the statement to tot up the total. There is a limitation on 6 years of charges but people have done much longer. Get the statement £10 fee and go from there.
Good luck

they may be a little awkward about the address thing but as you can prove you are you that's it. When you send the letter, add in the corner where your address is , your former address and then moved to address clearly ststing which is which or mention it somewhere.Debt £5600 all 0%0

Thanks for the replies... Am currently digging through 10+ years worth of bank & CC statements - unfortunately not very well sorted, but still lucky I never got round to shredding them!
I have details of around 12 different CC's I've had over the years (since about 1998). I'm not sure there are many default charges on all of them so it may not be worth my while pursuing them all if I have to pay £10 to get the details of charges from each one.
A couple more questions...
If I've held more than one a/c with one organisation at different times, can I make a single claim against them (i.e. 1 x £10 charge for statement data) rather than a separate claim per a/c?
Also when does the '6 year' period date back to - i.e. is it 6 years from the date of my initial claim to them, or is 6 years from the date of some judgement?
Thanks again!0 -
Hi
Firstly, one claim against one organisation is fine, in fact more than fine really since it could actually harm you not to make one claim.
As for the 6 year limit (the Statute of Limitations Act) - many people are convinced this has no bearing on charges since you could not reasonably have been expected to know that these charges were unlawful. As such, those with evidence of charges longer than 6 years ago have been reclaiming them and we have seen successes.
If you do not wish to claim beyond 6 years then you will be doing so from the date of your Subject Access Request, not the date it reaches court (if it does).0
