CravingSaving wrote: »Good morning, I am at rock bottom financially (and emotionally) but tring to look on the bright side so today I shall be......
- Taking gold jewellery around town to see who gives me the best price. I have 26g. The current market value is approx £27 per gram or £850 per troyounce (31.10 grams), but if I can even get a third of this I will be relieved. Failing that I shall offer them to Lois Jewellery or Hatton Garden Metals online traders.
- Taking 10 Xbox games back to Game to trade for cash. I theoretically could make more if I Ebayed, but it is such a faff to do one at a time on there and not guaranteed to get any bids.
- Popping into work to get boss to sign off on Housing/Council Tax benefit claim.
- Trying to organise a bring n buy sale in the local hall where I can try to sell all the bits n bobs that aren't Ebayable!
- Cancel DVD service. Another £7 p/month saved.
- Cancel subscription to Which? magazine. Shame, as this has proven to be a valuable money saving tool, but at £10 p/month, it has to go.
- Ebaying old mobile phone and all my perfume.
Sounds like great progress CravingSaving :T
All those subscriptions and stuff add up so you'll see the difference in no time I'm sure0 -

- [STRIKE]Need to do voluntary work - just got to write and post a letter - should really have time - on lunch if not before!![/STRIKE]
Got my voluntary work done so that's off my mind for a bit.
Also revised my ebay listings - lowered a couple of items that don't have bids yet. Got £35 will sell so not a bad start. :T
Going to go out in a bit for a wander round. Catch up later/tomorrow everyone :beer:0 -
Have been really good and taken some clothes back - that's £52 back in my account :A
But I did succumb to lunch in the food court:(

Progress report from earlier.....
- [STRIKE]Taking gold jewellery around town to see who gives me the best price.[/STRIKE] Decided not to trade engagement ring as scrap value is just £25 and its a lovely diamond ring, so more ebaying later! I got just £175 for my gold. Not what I had hoped for, as they had to take any stones out to get proper weight, but hey it's £175 I didn't have this morning!
- [STRIKE]Taking 10 Xbox games back to Game to trade for cash. [/STRIKE] I got £45.
- [STRIKE]Popping into work to get boss to sign off on Housing/Council Tax benefit claim.[/STRIKE] I told boss how embarassed I was having to ask for this, and she told me that she was claiming it too!!!

If I had a pound for every...... oh sod it, if I just had a pound I'd be richer!0 -
Sorry have not been on - been in hosp...and no net access (or very limited) so just been posting on frugal board
Monday - stupid nurses - was not in a good place- way too much drama - however having the clinical nurse manager's email addy had the ward manager eating out of my hand tuesday LOL....
But if there's no keys to my locker by Tuesday (if I'm still on there) they'll be another email to EB...cos I'm sweet...c'mon I even make snickerdoodles (google it and get addicted) for the junior medics as part of their 'training'...
Ward has been interesting. One manic student complaining about his meds went he spent over£3k of his pa's dosh in about 2 days....- hmmm....
Another patient at war with Shetland health board and calling every other nurse dog face...
The usual crowd of course
Still poor L with her dodgy leg she got from a failed su attempt last summer but at least she's got the metal frame off and she always does her hair SOOO nice and wears the nicest frocks to look at her you would think there's nothing wrong with her...:(
And H can go take a jump - fruitloop....she was creeping round the nightstaff last summer and believed an NA's lies about me...last thing I need. Surprise surprise she's still on the ward - she'll lose her house soon if not already
But at least x is finally on the mend :T. She has just gotten a new flat and is waiting for repairs...she's so ready to get out and yet she was so sick last summer. Fab to see her looking so well...
So yeah that's me...DIETING...and having Mr Frugal on my case as a result..Just caught up to P.18...:).....I kid my medics not this site beats facebook by a mile again...but I can now have a bath again at night since meds got upped (lovely :P) the other day...
And has anyone else seen the Mental Health and Debt preview on here....can't recall where it is but will try and hunt it out if anyone wants it...It looks very good
Also last Saturday's eBay paid my ebay billbut the last of it didn't get posted till yesterday...and yesterday I got 4 more shoulder/handbags to sell from charity shop for £2..:) and I made a hat the other day
Blessings
