Apparently i owe Orange £94 but i paid my bills

I'm feeling sick i've had a debt collection agency demand £94 from me, Apparently i owed Orange this. I'm confused as i was sure i was up to date. I transfered my account to 02 in june 08 i paid my last bill to them in June that year. I've head nothing since, & then i did a check on my rating last week & discovered a default in aug 08 for Arrow Global Ltd. I had no idea what this was until today when i had a letter from Fredrickson int lmt to contact them. I rang them because i was sure i didn't owe them anything but it transpires that it is this £94. I told them i would need to talk to orange but they said that would be pointless and they would not speak to me about it as now the debt is with them. I moved house around the summer of 08 so orange probable wouldn't of been able to of contacted me but i was with O2 so i didn't think i needed to let them know. The DCA said they would take legal action if i didn't pay so out of fear of that i agreed to pay on Direct Debit on the 3 march. Is there anything i could/should do?

Pay it then complain/investigate the matter further. It will really affect your credit history by not paying. And i think it will be worthwhile talking to orange about it. They will still know that you had an account with them and should be able to explain what has hapenned. Id be prepared to possibly accept that it might've been an error on your part ( mistakes are made were all human) good luck with it all!Fleet Air Arm - 800 NAS - *Nunquam Non Paratus*Showing the 'Crabs' how its done for over a hundred years!Tesco loan, £4,000 over 3 years - £138 p/m6 months 0% bicycle finance - £60 p/m0

yeah it could be my fault but i thought it would be pretty straight forward going from Orange to O2, but maybe i did something wrong.
Thanks for the advice.0 -
I moved from 02 to orange and that was a right mess. 02 were being pains in giving up my pac code and got my final bill wrong twice! So im glad i moved. But just speak to them and see what they sayFleet Air Arm - 800 NAS - *Nunquam Non Paratus*Showing the 'Crabs' how its done for over a hundred years!Tesco loan, £4,000 over 3 years - £138 p/m6 months 0% bicycle finance - £60 p/m0

I moved from Vodaphopne to Orange a few months back and vodaphone decided to double what i was quoted as owing them. Seems like alot of companies just seem to add on random charges when you cancel!0

yes it would be the ones you agreed to when the contract started, until the agreed tem date full term.0 -
Really bad advice if it is not owed. If you pay it, you are in effect acknowledging it - and by paying it late, you still get a black mark on your credit report, which is even harder to remove because you have in effect acknowledged it.The_Matelot wrote: »Pay it then complain/investigate the matter further. Orange may not talk to you about any credit issues but you can still call and discuss the bills or if they wont ask for a copy of the 3 last bills which may shed some light your way??? hth and good luckLiving the simple life0
