Hi, my friends. My credit history was very good and I always pay my bill on time. But I still have been annoyed by Lowell Group since few years ago, which affect my credit a lot and it is so annoying.
Few years ago, Lowell kept send me letters under my name, the letter said that I brought something from X company and did not paid for it, so it said I owned X company money and lowell already brought my debt from X company and they want me to pay for it. OMG. I even did not know X company exist before Lowell letter. It is not the truth at all due to I am check my money carefully, nothing debt show on my bank accout and it is impossible the people buy something from the shop which he did not know yet? So I rang lowell and asked for detail. they asked for my detail at first and then I gave them due to it was the first time I get in touch with DCA people. They just asked me to pay for it even I don’t know what was that. Then I asked for detail and how was that? At the end they asked me to contact X company. OK. Then X company saiding something had been purchased under my name and my old address. But the purchase time was on my last address in the detail according they mentioned and I already move out to another city at that time. So I rang Lowell later and tried to explain to them it was impossible done by me and so on, while, other side phone seems on hands free and lots of staff were laugh loudly, I were really !!!!ed on their behavior, the phone took me about 45 minutes and finally I asked them to send me letter proof in detail. this was happen few years ago, but I did not receive any proof until now. This year, Lowell restarted sending texts to me, and even phoned to my work place(How can they get my work place number and is it illegal?) and this case restart to come into my mind and keep annoy me.
Please help and give me some advice. I believed that nobody will pay for the debt which wasn’t belong to himself.
1.Should I ignore them or should I restart to solve it out due to it was not my fault at all?
2.Should I start to writing letter to Lowell directly as many people said only contact them in letter? or wait for their next letter?
3.which institution I should contact? OFT? I can ask my layer to help me if necessary?
4.How should I mentioned in the letter? I don’t know whether I should mention my address as they might do not have my current address?
Really bullet and hassle. Please help. Many Thanks

contact the police for fraud against you, at your previous address0

Send a letter demanding they stop ringing you and remove all phone numbers from your record. Failure to do that is in breach of the DPA.
Sedn a prove it letter.
Demand they stop contacting you, as it is not your debt.
How many years as it may be statute barred anyway if Lowell are involved. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -

YES, i already got a prove it letter in this forum. but how should I said that in letter as i want to sent the whole 'PROVE IT'!

Statute barred is 6 years since you last acknowleged the debt.
As you never acknowledged it it will be 6 years from the alleged failure to pay.
As stated send the prove it letter and ask them to remove your phone numbers from their records and stop calling you. State that all correspondence must be in writing from now on.
Don't sign the letter though.Wedding 5th September 20150 -
