can anyone help answer a few question for me, my partner and i had our house repossed 3 years ago we also had a charge on the house, we have not heard a dicky bird until last week when we had a letter from a completely different company not from the loan company we originally had. They are asking for the loan to be repaid within 14 Days it is not a small amount of money that we owe so it is impossible to pay the full amount. my partner is currently on jobseekers and just need to know if they can force you to pay what you can't afford ?
many thanks

Go over to the Debt Free wanabee board to hear the best way to deal with that debt.
Companies owed money by debtors often employ a debt collecting organisation to track down the debtor and enforce payment.0 -
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere, so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. They can't force yo to pay what you haven't got.
Even if at the extreme they took it to court, then even they couldn't force you to pay if you don't have the money.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

they can't do anything without taking you to court and then the court will not make you pay what you can't afford. the court will always let u have enough to live on.0
