Hi

I have just registered with this site and added 11 books for sale. Mostly books I studied from at university. I was just wondering if anyone has had much success from this site or do you think I would be better off with ebay?

I've sold some novels on there but only about 5 or 6 in the year I've had them listed. Can you add extra postage to heavy books, if so make sure that you have or else you won't get even the postage if they're bigger than a paperback.
I did list some text books on ebay & they sold on first listing BUT I'd messed up on weighing them so lost money as they were heavier than my scales had said. So do make sure that you weigh with the packing you'll be using. Also add the extra p&p to the start price as Books have a maximum p&p.
Could you hang onto them for a couple of months or until the reading list comes out, as half way through an academic year might not be the best time to sell.

I tend to keep around 150 books listed on Greenmetropolis and expect to sell one about every 6 weeks or so. I don't bother listing any though where there are more than 10 copies already listed, and I never list at more than the cheapest copy already listed, even if that means discounting mine.
