Moorcroft Debt Collection *URGENT ADVICE*

My fiancees sister has two outstanding debts with Lloyds TSB totalling around 800 pound. She has been ignoring them due to being out of work until recent times now she does part time hours and does have a smallish, steady income.

This morning she had a collector knock on her door from Moorcroft claiming she had to pay the debt. She has gave them her mobile number and isn't sure what her rights are from now - they said they will return next week where she 'has' to pay some of it off.

What are her rights? What can the debt collection agency do?
Can she call Lloyds TSB and deal with them direct or is the debt nothing to do with Lloyds TSB anyone seein as Moorcroft have obviously bought the debt from them?

Advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have read a few other sites saying you don't have to pay moorcroft anything.
Would it be best for her to ring Lloyds TSB? Some advice would be very much appreciated.
I want to advise her when she comes soon on what to do regarding Moorcroft.

Depends if the debt has been sold to Moorcroft or not? It may just have been passed to them for collection by Lloyds.

Might be worth contacting Llyods to find out, as the word of a Moorcroft employee isn't worth 'spit'

Either way, she doesn't have to deal with this person from Moorcroft.

Next time they call, she is within her rights to tell them to leave and that she will deal with the matter in writing only.

    Thanks for the reply Fermi.
I will get her to contact Lloyds directly to discuss the account.
The one with Moorcroft is for £215.89
Then she has another for a credit card with Apex Credit Management for £641.09 which is also through Lloyds.
Is there a number which she can contact Lloyds regarding the two debts directly?
