1 - 10 minutes of self-congratulating bull
2 - Tough, Radical & Fair?
3 - 5 million on out of work benefits
4 - 40% of jobs in the last decade went to non British nationals
5 - Sainsburys has 15,000 to 20,000 employees that do not want to work extra hours because they would lose every penny equal penny in benefit. (Maybe they need to give out more full time jobs then)
6 - 2 million couples "not living together" & "split up"
7 - Housing benefit £20bn blah blah £2000 per week for some people..
8 - You will keep 35p of benefit for every £1 you earn
9 - Housing Benefit set to a max of the lowest 30% of prices locally
10 - "Sanctions" for refusing training, fraud, turning down jobs
11 - Businesses, charities etc being brought in & paid for results for finding people work. They will be paid dependent on how much money they save the treasury
12 - Half the people claiming start the process by being signed off sick from work & then lose their jobs.
(Questions for PM - CEO of Crisis says Cameron is talking balls about allowing groups to enter the Jobcentre process. No information has been given. No pricing given to enable a commercial decision.)
13 - Its very clear. They haven't planned & thought it out & its not going to be in situ for years.

Those two are the biggest issues.
The welfare system actually holding people back from working, and making it far more beneficial economically to live apart.
This is the result of the absolute madness of the last decade of the mass benefits give aways.0 -

I think this is one of the biggest issues propping up rents and house prices in London.
They will not have to move out until 2012 now, but no new tenants can claim more than £400 wk.0 -

If this can be achieved - excellent.
Listen to all the higher rate tax payers complaining that only keeping 50% of what they earn is a disincentive to earn more (even though the marginal benefit of an extra £ has got to be lower when you are already earning 150k than 5k).
Then think what it is like for those on low incomes who currently face marginal effective tax rates of 95% and that is even before you factor in the extra costs of parking at work etc.I think....0 -
Some articles from the Torygraph to balance the views of the metrosexual gender challenged Guardianista's.

This is nonsense. 2.5 million are on JSA.
2 million are on Incapacity benefit.
There are 2 million lone parents claiming Income support.
There are other smallerscale benefits1984ReturnsForReal wrote: »6 - 2 million couples "not living together" & "split up"
This is the biggie. Loads of people are co-habiting & working without declaring it.It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

It was all a load of balls to me.
Just a load of propaganda with no substance whatsoever
I also had the impression that the 5 million was a figure Cameron was saying was inactive & on benefits in 2008ishNot Again0 -

Ah well, may as well ignore the lot then.
He'll change his mind again in 2-3 weeks & blame something or another...It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0
