TBH, they are fun for the kids, but the pictute quality is awful. Depending on his age, you'd be better of buying him a proper camera, maybe a used one off Ebay, and he will get much better photos. Also, changing the batteries (which happens fairly regularly) is not easy, needing a tiny screwdriver to remove the 2 different battery bays for the 4 x AA's it takes.

These are an expensive toy, with a cheap camera inside.
