I've had provident and while i payed alot of interest back, it helped me to get a new waashing machine as i couldnt afford to go and buy one when i was on benefits (still couldnt now!)
Not everyone has the means to get decent rated loans, and if your careful enough not to top up your loan then its not all bad.
I payed mine off and wo t be getting another one as i dont need the money for anything, some people do go a bit over board, my cousins mum pays £80 a week on doorstep loans ow that is bad!:j Baby boy Number 2, arrived 12th April 2009!:j0

A provident loan of £500 taken out over a year costs £800+++ the same loan from you local credit union will cost £533!!!!! and you still have your savings...........My Credit Union has also been helping Farepak customers, if we didnot then thay would have to go to these unethical loan companies.
Excellent. That is exactly my point.Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.

I know in my mind what should come through the door each month (Bank Statement, internet bill BT bill once a quarter and chirstams and birthday cards at the right time and anything I am expecting I HAVE ASKED FOR. It has been like this for nearly three years until today.
Any deviation to this balance unbalances ki energy.

With all due respect, KarateDragon, how can you only receive what you have asked for? If we all did that, you'd never be able to ask for anything, either, so no-one would get anything!

One of my uni friends works part time for this company and she says they have very lose morals including not calling on customers for weeks then demanding FULL payment or referal to a DCA. Apparently she is encouraged to not call on the clients getting them further into debt. She feels bad about it, I know she's only been doing it for 3-4 weeks and she's already looking for alternative employment.
I would strongly advocate the use of credit unions, I have an account and so does my husband and we can save and utilise our savings when we need to carry out home improvements whilst keeping them safe too.
 I'd recommend CU's wholeheartedly!
Kate- my husband always is receiving junk mail and SPAM from Provident, he had to write to them to get his name removed.£2 Coin Savers Club (Christmas)- £86£1 Jar (Christmas)- £29Christmas Vouchers Saved: £1450

i would urge your friend to contact head office about her manager as what he is doing is wrong. she should be calling on her customers every week. i dont think she can say the company has loose morals because of one very bad manager. i think she has been very unlucky in her manager and if she doesnt like then job then obviously she should find another one but if she feels she could like the job then she really should report this and get a better manager.
