Incorrect Tax Codes

in Cutting tax
A few of my colleagues have realised that they are on the incorrect tax codes.
One of them has spoken to the Inland Revenue and they have her registered with the corret atx code, however the empoyer says that teh tax code they have used was supplied by the inland revenue.
This is going to result in a potentially large sum of moneis to be repaid, and whilst the tax should have been paid and is owed, is there any claim they can make against the employer for using the incorrect tax code ?
Thanks

No, because the tax code provided by the revenue is the correct one for the company to use (even if the code itself is wrong) if you see what I mean.
The company doesn't have any choice in this. They are obliged to use the code notified to them. They can't change the employees tax code themselves. The company is not doing anything wrong.Cash not ash from January 2nd 2011: £2565.:j
OU student: A103 , A215 , A316 all done. Currently A230 all leading to an English Literature degree.
Any advice given is as an individual, not as a representative of my firm.0 -
