Hi All. Could someone give me some advice please. I have received a letter and countless phone calls from MKRR stating that they are collecting a debt owed to Shop Direct Finance who I believe are Littlewoods catalogue.
They say I owe 15pounds dating back 5 years. I have no knowledge of any money outstanding to them. They cannot provide any details of the 'debt' but expect me to pay anyway.
How can I be sure that this is a real debt?

I have also received a letter (addressed to my maiden name) from MKRR stating that I owe £65.20 - a "debt" they bought from Shop Direct Finance.
I rang and was told that this dated back to 1999 from the Janet Fraser catalogue (part of the Littlewoods group). I can't remember that far back, but am certain that I cleared my account before it was closed. I've lived at the same address since 1995 and have never had anything from Janet Fraser to say that I still owed them money.
I was told that if I was able to pay the "debt" within 7 days they would reduce it to £39. :exclamati
I have asked them to send me proof that I owe this money and they say the account has been suspended until this proof arrives.
This is the first letter I've had from them and they've not rung me (probabaly because they don't have my phone number). Should I still send them the letter from the previous link?0 -
