My partner and my 2yr old son and i are going to Edinburgh this sunday and are staying overnight to do some xmas shopping and visit some relatives and im wanting some tips on how to make this a truly money saving experience (a contradiction when im going to do xmas shopping!).. i have booked a £26 travellodge room and so have saved some ££ already but im looking for anyone who can tell me cheap places to eat out or any cheap specials they know of. I found myself a hungry horse BOGOF offer on here and so may stop off in Perth on the way home on monday but would appreciate any tips anyone has! We will be setting off early in the morning and dont want to be spending a fortune from the minute we set off buying breakfast lunch and dinner for my hungry passengers!!
I LOVE MSE! :money:

i use tesco clubcard deals for restaurants (always found them to be very good) - perhaps too late for this trip, but worth keeping in mind for the next one.TOP MONEYSAVING TIP
Make your own Pot Noodles using a flower pot, sawdust and some old shoe laces. Pour in boiling water, stir then allow to stand for two minutes before taking one mouthful, and throwing away. Just like the real thing!0 -
There is a thread all about eating in Edinburgh on the Scotland board that you might find interesting. http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=309150

Shopping? Cheap?
You should stay at home and try bidding on my Ebay auctions.
Someone bid my brand new solid gold Ferrari all the way up to £2, I just got £5 for Tutankhamun's mask, my 55 bedroom mansion in central London didn't get a single bid at 1p with no reserve, and I'm pretty sure my diamond encrusted PSP is going to go for a quid...
The way things are going, if I put a skip full of £50 notes on, I'd get 99p for the lot.0
