I just marmalade and put it in the jars but just realised I forgot to put in the lemon
should I put it back in the pan and add the lemon and boil it? or will it be ok without it?

The lemon is to help it set. If it's set, then it's fine

Is there nothing you don't know?
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -

Thanks all seemed fine a little bit runny but ok. Made a second lot today and put them in kilner style jars I got from ASDA and then discovered they are not airtight and leak  will these be OK or have I wasted the whole night and lots of oranges?0 -
better you have discovered they arent air tight NOW! you would have wasted your money and time as the marmalade would spoil in them anyway! I havent made marmalade for years - but if yours sets then I would seal the jars with cling film and a rubber band and store them. if not you could always boil it up again add the lemon - meanwhile clean and sterilise the jars again. dont trust the lids and seal with cling film. you can put the lids on over the film and cut the film away - I do this with my preserves and pickles as I tend to re-use old jars.0

can I suggest OP you look for The Preservers Year thread in Old Style, started by Thriftlady for more (superb) preserving advice
In the meatime SAVE your old jam jars and lids and get others to save them for you with the promise of, say, one refilled for every 6 jars they give you;)Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

If you like the orange taste, then orange marmalade should be fine.
