I have been in debt management since September last year and what a big mistake that was. They where charging me £43 every month to sort out my debt, they were late paying people, never answered my emails or phone, breaking agreements that had been set, missing months out??? i was just up the wall with them well i still am, i have canceled it now thank god but they don't seem to be dealing with my complain at all. I just spoken to them on the phone and the man who i have been talking to become very rude on the phone this has been going on 4 like 4 weeks now ????????
How can i get through to them about all my problems and the money they owe me

Hi Kirstyb
Who is the debt management company?
Unfortunately I doubt that you are going to have much success in getting your money back without going to court.
However I would inform this company that you will be making a formal complaint to trading standards and the OFT as to their conduct.
Some of these companies (those who have not already surrendered their license) are flying very close to the wind and are likely to be closed down.
I wonder if yours is one of these?
However moving forward you should speak to the CCCS or Payplan who will do a better job that your DMC and will do it for FREE!

Hi
What company have you been using Kirsty? Good that you have cancelled them now.
What money do they owe you? have you had a statement to show all the money you paid them, the fees they charged and the money they paid to your creditors? If not I would write to them to set out that you want this information sent to you within say 14days.
If they still don't comply then you may need to send a subject access request to them under the data protection act (costs £10) to find out exactly where all your money went.
How many months did you pay them for? usually they take the first 2-3months as set up fees and then as you say a monthly fee from the amount you pay them.
What are you doing regarding your debts now? have you spoken to one of the debt advice charities?A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
