Paid CCJ....How to remove from credit report?

Hello,

Apologies if this is in the wrong forum.

Since 2009 i have been working extremely hard to become debt free. I have signed up to Credit Expert to check how well i'm doing. :o

I have noticed that the CCJ I paid off last year is still sat as unpaid on my report, therefore having an impact on my struggling credit score.

Is there a way of me getting this changed without the cost of buying a certificate of satisfaction from the debt collector I paid it back to?

Sorry if i'm being a little dull and not seeing the obvious.

Thank you in advance guys! :A

Best thing to do is use something like Experian or Equifax and write a notice of correction on your report, and of course, to contact the court that issued the judgment and see what they suggest.

You do realise even if the debt is marked as paid or satisfied it will stay on your file for 6 years.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

McKneff is right ...I forgot to ask whether or not the CCJ was paid off within 1 month, if so, you can have it removed, if it took over a month to repay, then it'll be on your file for 6 years.

to get it settled you need to send proof to the courts
  • Hi. Thanks For your replies. It wasn't paid within the month unfortunately. :(

I have now got a receipt of the bailiff (high court enforcement dudes)

Also found a form on the hrmcc website and sent my proof. They asked for £15.00 for a certificate of satisfaction which will then change the CCJ to satisfied which is a tiny bit better than it showing the amount still owing. :)

Thanks again.........my credit report is still poor but at least my defaults have been paid (shame I didn't do this in the beginning eh?) :D
