working from home job?

I don't think i'd make much doing ironing.
It takes me over 20mins to do a shirt.
It used to take me a whileuntil i was shown an easier way, instead of having to go back over everything as i creased it along the way!
I can do about 10 ish an hour now depending on the state of the shirt to start off :j0 -
This is easy.
Do you know or do something really well?
Could be anything, designing websites, stamp collecting, bringing up children, budgeting, making crafts, art, playing the guitar, absolutely anything.
Could you write about it and offer advice?
If you can answer yes to both questions then you have the opportunity to create your own website and build a community of followers which you could eventually market products to, or you could advertise on the site using Google Adsense (Google it).
If you can create a web page of good content and earn £1 a day through adsense advertising, then imagine creating more and more pages. Forget £100 a week, it's feasible to earn £100 and more a day through building your own website with information you write.
Word of warning!!!
It takes time and patience, it won't happen overnight, there is no such thing as "Get Rich Quick".0 -
I would love to make a full time living from home, need to more like, but I'm just getting nowhere.
I like writing and am earning pocket change now and then with that, but need more.
I have started about 6 blogs and a few free websites, but as I spread myself around everywhere nothing ever gets done on any of them.
I have tried craft work from home and got scammed a few times.
I can't do phone work - way too shy. And I have tried Avon and such like, but being shy and not liking doing all the face to face parts is no good for that.
I have tried cleaning outside the home, but while I'm good at the online work, getting clients, building blogs and such like, and I don't mind the actual cleaning, I HATE being the one in charge of talking to the customers.
If I could find someone to work with who would do all that side of it then it wouldn't be a problem, but I have yet to find a site where other self employed people are looking for people to work with them etc.
I am trying to do affiliate work, having no luck there either. Have also tried a few other work from home jobs but they are really not earning any good money.
I am having no luck in getting a job outside of the home, and my ideal life anyway would be self employed from home. I have no problem with putting in 12 hours a day/night, but I need to see results.
I have no money really and I just don't know what to do or try anymore.
Good luck everyone else though. Thanks to TS, BM, LR and the others for great help with 'P+I'

On the cleaning side have you tried an agency to work through, i have had success with maid2clean and time4you who do all the setting up of customers and advertising for you and then you just go and clean every week for the client they have managed to get.
They do take a cut but i still get £7 an hour doing that and its more depending on where you live. I did it because i had trouble just finding decent cleaning jobs in the daytime which paid enough as its self employed and you have petrol, unpaid hols and tax to consider as well.0 -

Thank you replying. Do you think that those cleaning companies could make someone a full time wage? I did see maid2clean advertising around my area a while ago, but it was with ironing included and I'm not that good ha-ha.
How does it work? Do you just have the keys and clean without being bothered, or are the people at home watching you? After tax and everything, do you think that £7 is a OK wage? Sorry for all the questions
Do you work self employed full time? How do you make it work, so that you get a decent wage?
I have tried doing adult texting work as well, but that is really slow at the moment and I can't find any higher paying busy companies to hire me.
Going to scan the job sites again now, doubt there will anything new that wasn't there an hour ago though. Thanks to TS, BM, LR and the others for great help with 'P+I'

Hiya,
I don't do this full time as i have another part time job working for an ironing company at home, so this is to get extra hours, my mum does it too with maid 2 clean and she does no ironing at all, think they say that in case the client wants it but you can always say no.
You can say what your happy with to maid 2 clean, like no ironing, empty house, to be honest its usually full time workers needing extra help in the home, my clients are never in and i have a key and we communicate by text or notepad
You don't have much contact with maid 2 clean once you have jobs, only time they ring is if there are new jobs available. You can work with as many agencies as you want to make up the hours.
Some areas are getting £9 an hour, i'm up north so we get less, but i don't pay tax as i'm under the threshold with my earnings, but i still have to pay NI and petrol. For me the benefits are better, its flexible and if my son is ill etc i can work round it and i can go do my job no mither and then come home...finished! :T
There are other agencies as well like rocket maid, dolly char and loads more that pay different rates, if you google cleaning franchises you will get the names and usually when you go on the sites it has a vacancy section and then it will take you too your area and the person who employs people in your area.
Think some pay mileage as well, its worth investigating if you like working solo with no mither.
I used to run my own cleaning round and charged £10 an hour and i had to turn people away as i only wanted very part time then about £70 a week but that was word of mouth and all my paid for advertising didn't produce anything. I took time out and did call centre work at home which is harder than you think
But to build up my own cleaning clients again would take a while so thats why i went to the agencies with clients waitingSometimes needs must.

Thank you very much for your answer. It does sound good, I like the fact that the owners don't stand there watching you, that would put me off big time. I'm up north as well, about 6 miles from Blackpool.
Will keep looking around for a bit, but if nothing else comes up I might give this a go, I'm desperate to get something good started and make some real money. I'm a good cleaner and I suppose you can be taught to iron better ha-ha.
I wish I had the self confidence to start my own/shared cleaning company.
I don't drive, but I have seen maid2clean advertising for cleaners around here, 15 per week max, £6.50 an hour. I just need to earn money now, while working towards a better future.
Good luck to us both. And everyone else.
Thanks to TS, BM, LR and the others for great help with 'P+I'
