postal gold tampered with n lost

Options
Hi there guys can anyone please help. On 31st Jan I sent an envelope of gold and silver jewellery in a special delivery envelope supplied by and sent to Post Gold For Cash. I hadn't heard from them so yesterday I emailed them as i tracked my parcel and it said it had arrived. Apparently, they received the package on 1 st Feb but the parcel had seemed to have been tampered with and they said the envelope was empty. I can apply to the post office for compensation and they attached the email form. They said they will send the tampered pacckage back but have washed their hands of it. when I loooked at the P office form it says I need receipts or valuations for the items but other than proof of postage and the tracking receipt i don't have any as they are all old gifts or broken bits that were presents. Stupidly I never photographed or copied the form with what was in the package. the package weighed 0.030 kg. Is there away forward with this? How much would my gold have been worth. I am so cross with myself and wish I had just taken it to the shopping centre counter...so mad!! Please help!!! Has anyone else had probs with PGFC? Thanks in advance!

  • I am no boffin but I predicted this would happen - its a crazy sytem - of course the post office workers know which are the special envelopes with gold in them.

Sorry this happened to you though.
  • Hi thanks for the reply. That did cross my mind, but plenty of my friends had done it successfully and I did my homework with this company. So ticked off!! Anyone know best way forward with getting compensation at the Post Office. This would happen to me, usually happens this way: friends do it successfully and easily and then I do it and it's all complicated.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

did you have any luck in tracing your gold???
  • Perfect example of why not to sell your valuables in the post. No chance when I decide to sell my gold am I leaving it in the hands of RM or any of these joke companies.
