NEARLY DEBT FREE need help to tie up loose ends please

Hi everyone
After 9 years suffering in the whirlwind that is debt, i am finally near the end :j. I have managed to clear debts of £27,000  and this morning confirmed my stupid welcome finance loan is now paid .... in full £3480.33p AND they owe me money! (a rareity!):T:rotfl:
I have been paying this for nearly 6 years yet for the past two years they have "lost" my payments so therefore defaulted me on my credit file many times. This is an error and they have now found my payments.

My first question is: How do I go about tying up loose ends? eg making my credit file correct?

Also, should I check all credit files for debts that have slipped my mind? and own up before they come knocking?

I have a ccj that is now satisfied in about 2006, how long will this take to be removed?

I am wanting everything to be clear on my credit file as in a few years time when I have saved some money I would like to look at buying my own house

I hope somebody can help?

I Must give a big thank you to all on martin's:money: money saving expert site, without you all and your words of wisdom and threads that I have laughed at and cried at I wouldn't be writing this now so  :T  :T
Thank you all xxxxx

GOOD LUCK TO ALL SUFFERING DEBT, I KNOW THESE CAN BE HARD TIMES BUT YOU MUST KEEP YOUR CHIN UP AND FACE YOUR PROBLEMS HEAD ON WITH A CAN DO ATTITUDE THIS WAY YOU SET THE PATH TO ACHEIVEMENT OF YOUR GOALS!!!!:A

Welcome Finance should sort out the wrong defaults at their end and notify credit companies they were errors...although as far as I'm aware, they can only give you 1 default, not several. If you have it in writing that it was their error and default should not be issued you can send a copy to credit reference companies too.

With your CCJ, do you mean it was issued in 2006 or satisfied in 2006? If the latter, when was it issued? They last 6 years from date of issue so should be dropping off your file shortly - although at this time, it would make less or a difference than what it did when it was first issued.

    Hope that helps!
