Scared to send the letters...help

Hi Guys,
I have the letters ready to post to my creditors, but i just cant send them

I am terrified, the main reson being, previously when i have been late paying Santander, they phone me at work, and i am scared stiff they will start ringing me umpteen times, i work in a big open plan office and sit right next to my boss, no one knows of my predicament :o

I know there are letters you can send to stop them ringing you, but this dosnt always work does it ??

Anyone else felt this way and how did you overcome it :(

  • It will work but unfortunately not until it gets processed. Santander are slllloooooowwww so the sooner you get sent the sooner your number will be removed from the system or atleast they wont ring it :)

    Hi

You can do it! I would however include in your letter about not phoning you and for all communication to be in writing. This does usually work, especially with the big banks, although DCAs tend to push their luck more.

If they do ring at work when you have told them not to then just say to them firmly that you cannot talk to them and can they write to you as per your previous communication. Don't start discussions with them and don't let them get you angry or scared on the phone.
Maybe you could also have a 'cover story' little problem ready for if they call, that you could say to your boss/colleagues if they do call, something like "Santander have been causing so many problems since they took over from Abbey, they even sent me a card with my name spelt wrong" or "they haven't sent me a statement for 2months and I've been chasing them for ages" or something similar!
A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who give
or "It costs nowt to be nice"
  • Thanks for the replys, my worry is, are they going to ring 3 or 4 times a day 5 days a week ???:(
  • Hi have you looked at the template letters available. You can adapt them to suit your own circumstances, they tend to run something like http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=24057851&postcount=8

You could incorporate all or parts in your opening letter to your creditors.

    Hope this helps, regards Handy.
