Need help finding a matress protector and fitted sheet.

You could always get some 'Grippits' from Betterware that would allow you to continue to use your existing bedding, they go accross the corners underneath the mattress and keep the sheet in place and they are on offer at the moment (BOGOF)0

Just curious if anyone knows really how this goes.
1. Mattress protector then fitted sheet over.
2. Just Mattress protector.
I use no 1 method. But wondering is the mattress protector suppose to be an alternative for a fitted sheet or not?
A mattress protector is there to prevent the mattress getting stained etc. A sheet is then put over it and washed with the duvet cover.
I got a great box mattress cover from dunelm mill, it is like a sheet with a zip on the end of it. (I needed something thin as it is a memory foam/spring mattress).
Something like this, but this one doesn't describe the depth it fits:

I also got some fitted sheets from there, they have an extra deep range, but only in a limited range of colours :
