CCJ Advice most appreciated

I am very frustrated as through bad administration (on my part) I received a CCJ at Christmas over a £200 debt to Next. Doubly frustrating as I had last paid them in September, so the whole process to Northampton County Court took about 10 weeks and then my reply to the court was lost in the Christmas post apparently & never received.
My problem is that I rent and cannot move to an agency managed house because I will (I imagine) fail a credit Check.
If I pay the CCJ off will this affect my credit? Can I get it cancelled in any way or is it there now for the forseeable and just something I will have to live with.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

If you pay it within one month of the date the CCJ was made, the you can get the judgement removed from the register and your credit reference files.
If paid outside that one month, then you can only get it marked as "satisfied".Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
