hello everyone,
Although i only probably post once or twice a month i also spend a lot of time reading everyone's diary and am picking up some really helpful tips and advice. Although i have only starting op'ing since feb this year, i feel like ive made a big change in my shopping habits and generally my response to spending money. Before i would go out two or three times a month because i was bored, purely to browse the shops and just spend money! i didnt usually even need the stuff and then i would get depressed that crap was cluttering up my house! lol! after a few months of explaining to darling hubby why we were op'ing and the importance to keep up the op's i think i have finally got through to him!!!! He is now fully on board and has even promised y month to pay me £200 from next month every month! Yay! And even though our op's our mortagage has reduced by £50 per month, we have kept the monthly repayment the same so op'ing £50.00 per month on top!
This morning i made another op of£2000 and now our mortagage debt is £179,772.66 and we have reduced our daily interest to £12.26 (orignally £13.11 before we started op) Yay!
I hope everyone has a really positive month and make great progress on this long and winding road to be MF!!!!!!!

Congratulations on your progress. Don't be too daunted by having a larger mortgage than average, it's what you do with it now that counts and remember it probably means that you have a house worth more than the average to go with it. We took out a 25 year mortgage of £300k in 2004 as first time buyers on a house costing £330k Since then we have saved the money to move to a house worth around £450k and at the same time reduced the mortgage to £147k, although we make use of an offset account so that the overpayments remain liquid. By hook or by crook we plan to have that mortgage fully repaid within 2 years. Good luck, you seem to have made a very good start.0
