Full and final

Hi, I have a debt wwith capquest of £1500, and they said over the phone they will accept £790 to clear this debt.
So, today I am sending them this cheque, but is there a specific letter i should send to make sure they don't come after me for the rest?
Thanks

  • Before sending them any money make sure that you have what they said to you on the phone in writting.

(I think something along the lines of - that they are willing to accept this reduced payment as F & F, and that they will no longer chase you for the rest, and they won't sell your debt on. But someone more knowledgeable will hopefully come along and clarify what the letter should say)

Also on the back of said cheque write in full & final settlement ;)

Then when it's cashed get it back from your bank and keep it on file, not that i'm paranoid lol
