I haven't tried this but this may be worth looking at. You'd still have the problem of things going out of stock though.

*Update*
We used this list site after all and it worked fine for us. Some people bought from the list, a lot of people gave vouchers and cash. If you are not wanting things from just one place then I would say this could maybe be worth a try.
