hi guys
the otherday when i filed for JSA (recently made redundant)
the guy on the other end of the phone said that my NI was not correct and that he had found the correct one but could not tell me what it was for security
he said the one i gave him was someone else...but ive just gone through past pay slips and its all the same number (the number i gave him)
what does this mean?

happened to me once but the firm I worked for had put the wrong number down. Is the one on you payslips correct? was it the one you have always had. Or did the man mishear you.Tallyhoh! Stopped Smoking October 2000. Saved £29382.50 so far!0

it was the one on my payslip but ive gone back through payslips from 5 years and its all the same number....if it has been wrong all this time...what does it mean?

Dont you have a card or any paperwork with the original number on? ring HMRC 0845 915 7006.
Sounds like your firm might just have the wrong number. Also suggest you make an appointment with the job centre & take all your payslips in etc with proof of ID.Tallyhoh! Stopped Smoking October 2000. Saved £29382.50 so far!0 -
