Its dds prom this year and she is looking for a dress, she wants something in a grecian style, long or short and in true mse:money: style as cheap as possible. Here is an example of the style she likes but all suggestions are welcome:) She is 5'3 and a size 8. Thanks for any ideas:)

Try https://www.fashionfactory.co.uk - they say they are the biggest prom dress retailer in the UK. Based in cannock if your local to the midlands.0

I love this one.
The whole prom thing is an expensive nightmare, eldest 2 years ago cost with shoes, hair etc about £200, youngest started looking for hers this month and has seen one she likes in a bridal shop and has fitting next week.
Debenhams are very good for dresses.Mama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.0 -
Hi, try googling Courtesan Dresses, I got my bridesmaids there0

dd had picked this out herself yesterday, I love it too:D gizmo111, I'm lucky dd is as frugal as I am;) the idea is that we like to spend but not waste money, she says she will probably only wear it once or maybe again for a special occasion so she has set herself a budget of a maxium of £60 for the dress, her friends are spending £300:eek: thank goodness for dd:rotfl:thanks for the help:)Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0 -

GLOWGIRL it's also my dd's prom this year, she is the eldest of my 4 children. I made it quite clear last year( when she came home saying prom dresses were about £300 plus) that I wouldnt be spending silly money on a dress that would probably only be worn once.
The budget was £60 for the dress. We went to T.K.Maxx at the beginning of January, she saw one dress in her size, tried it on she fell in love with & it fits her perfectly (thankfully its a size 0 from America RRP $300). To top it all it was £59.99.
Her friend has also got her prom dress from there, it was £39.99, worth going to have a look.0
