Hi amanda,
It is bound to be on your credit file somewhere. If the amount you have agreed with the credit card company is below the minimum payment they may issue a notice of default. Before they do this though, they will send you a letter giving you 14 days to sort it out. If they do go for the default option this will stay on your credit file for 6 years and will affect your ability to get credit. If you've nothing decent to say, perhaps you shouldn't say anything.

It was opened pre-1998 (when the DPA was revamped) so won't necessarily show...yet!!bottleofred wrote: »It is bound to be on your credit file somewhere.
From reading the OP's other posts it's a HSBC card. Like Yorkshire Bank (in my case), HSBC may only report negative account conduct, ie not 'white data', on accounts opened before 1998.0 -

Thanks for info Yorkshireboy. I had never heard of this before and think it's a bit unfair that they don't show a good repayment history, but are quick to punish when things go wrong. If you've nothing decent to say, perhaps you shouldn't say anything.

It works both ways. I have £8K of available credit on my Yorkshire Bank credit card, and a £4K overdraft facility on my current account, that no other lender knows about.bottleofred wrote: »...think it's a bit unfair that they don't show a good repayment history...
