I dont know if this is the same situation exactly but I purchased 3 lancome products from Boots online about a month ago with the same 'glitch' saying I would get 1000 points with any 3 purchases. But I have since checked my boots advantage card in a machine instore and I only received 100 points. I was promised the 1000 points at checkout but I think it was then spotted that i hadnt bought skincare so I didnt receive the pointsYou bowl like your mother. Unless of course she bowls well, in which case you bowl nothing like her Big Bang Theory Big Bang Theory 0 0

Went to get 2 products today to get a gwp on £29 spend and was told I couldn't use my points to pay as something to do with the till not recognising the spend threshold. I wanted the items and gift so just paid cash but the stuff is quite dear! Has anyone else been told you can't pay with points instore to get the gwp?0

Yes, people have been told this before (on one of the old Boots Grabbit threads) but it's a load of rubbish. You definitely are entitled to the gwp, whether you pay with points, cash or a giftcard it makes no difference.Went to get 2 products today to get a gwp on £29 spend and was told I couldn't use my points to pay as something to do with the till not recognising the spend threshold. I think the lady in question emailed Boots customer services then printed out their reply for future reference instore.0

Thanks, that's what I would've thought, but I emailed Boots and they left a message on my answerphone, explaining that you can't pay with points and receive a gwp, as paying with points is considered as availing of an offer, a gwp is also an offer, so you can't avail of two offers! In my email I said that there is no mention of not being able to pay with points in the small print of the gwp advertisement but the customer service agent didn't mention this in her response. She apologised for my disappointment and is sending out a few products (not Lancome) to compensate. She said I could call back to discuss but I don't see the point. It would be interesting to see Boots' response to the other lady you referred to! It is quite annoying as I've been saving points for ages and have about £90 worth!0
