Dress hoop affecting length?

Hi, I am just after some advice regarding hoops. I am planning on wearing one as it fills my dress out and makes it a hell of alot easier to walk! However I am worried about it making my dress to short! I already have a very low heel and the dress is perfect with the shoes and no hoop. Would a hoop make much difference to the length? I really don't want to wear flats! thanks Cherry x

Not being funny, but are you sure its the right length at the minute? I only ask because you say the hoop makes it easier to walk.
I was absolutely certain that my dress was the perfect length, and wouldnt be told otherwise, that was, until my dress lady Linda told me to walk across the room without looking down and i almost tripped over several times.
I had this idea that it should be brushing the floor, but you will only trip on it everytime you take a step forward.:jProud mummy to a beautiful baby girl born 22/12/11 :j0 -
It just touches the floor with my heels on and does brush the floor. I'm just worried about it being too short and being able to see my feet poking through in the photos! I have ordered a hoop from ebay so will try it and see what it is like. Are you having a hoop Sammy?0

Yes, i have a hoop, quite a big jupon. Stil had to have it taken up though.
I would put the dress on and try walking forward, looking up, shoulders back etc (otherwise it wont work). If it is touching the floor then it's probably too long. Last thing you want it to trip over it.
You shouldnt be able to see your shoes if the dress has a full skirt (which im assuming it does since you're having a hoop). Your feet will be in the centre, and when you step forward the dress will move out with your leg. If you see what i mean. lol

:Tyay!!
If you gown touches the floor while you are stood still, it's too long. With each step forward your gown will dip. The perfect length is about 0.5- 1cm clearance of the floor at the front (walking point)0 -
Thanks Linda! I will give it a go once my hoop has arrived and go from there. My dress has previously been taken up by about 2cm at the front from its previous owner, so I need to work around what I already have. Think I was having my first brideszilla moment! Im sure it will help when I am able to actually do it up as at the moment can't........but I'm working on that and am off to the gym right now!0
