help !!!!!!!!!

I am a new user to this and just dont know what to do next i am 9400.97 in debt on my credit card , i pay 200 pounds a month but with charges this only pays off 28 pounds i have a terrible credit rating and cannot get any cards to transfer the balance, i called the cc company ( tesco ) to tell them i am in trouble but their only advice was to stop paying and then they would send defalult letters etc but this would be on my files for 5years, i can just about afford the 200 pounds and if i can send extra after selling all my wardrobe on e-bay, i just think at my time of life i will run out of years to pay this

Good morning Jules1960!

Firstly well done for this moment - to recognise you've got debt and you need help is really hard and you are here and that's just great. We've all been there, and you will get through!

Secondly, can I suggest you read the 'first time users' post (it's sticky which means it's at the top of the board) and fill in the SOA. This is a spreadsheet of all your money and where it goes. You'll find it really helpful just to do that, and then if you feel brave enough post it here and we will gather round with helpful advice. It's hard but can be so worth it.

Also, if you can let us know things like what your apr at Tesco is, and how much credit is left, and if you have any other cards or possibility of loaning money from family friends etc or overdraft and (if you know it) why your credit rating is so poor, then we can give some suggestions on that too. Please go easy on yourself, there is lots that can be done to cut back on outgoings, take a look at the Old Style Thread on this forum, it has excellent tips on how you can save £100s by simple measures. It has certainly worked for me!
