@kepar: That is a distinct possibility but I think I stand a fairly good chance of a job soon. The last one I applied for I was well-qualified for, had all the necessary experience, and some good references, but I didn't even make the shortlist for interview. There were apparently 40 applicants for the same job. Things are tough out there at the moment.

Yet you are well qualified and good references, things are tough if you didn't make the short list, how often do your type of jobs come up. Judging by that you may have a long wait. Good luck though.

Fairly regularly. I'm sending off another application tomorrow. I'd say I have a decent shot at it. Thing is, you never can know for sure because if there are 40 people for each job, then you don't know who you're up against. Could always be someone with a better CV or whatever.

I'm a little concerned that one of your loans appears to be tied into your PhD in that you say the repayments are not due to start until post graduation day.

Can anyone clarify if that is like to qualify as a student loan in the same way as the Government student loans are not allowed to be included in Bankruptcy?

Did you discuss this detail with the debt agency Sandwich?

It took me 6 months to find a job and I'd consider myself well skilled and qualified. Times are hard.

Just make sure your bankruptcy (if you choose that route) doesn't affect your job prospects.
