No response on the PPI thread, so wondered if anyone had any advice?
Hi
Breifly I have an ongoing loan with Welcome Fianance, I currently pay £30 per month via attachment of earnings and have done for 3 years.
Around a year ago I claimed back my PPI on the loan and was awarded £750ish which they deducted from my arrears.
I lodged an appeal with the Financial Ombudsman to say I had other priority debt (rent arrears) which I wanted to use the money for and as the court had decided that the maximum I had to pay per month was £30 I felt I had a good case to get the money refunded to me direct.
F.O called me last week to say they had ruled in my favour and they would be writing to welcome finance to advise them to pay the money to me direct. However they also said that Welcome could then appeal against there decision if they felt it was unfair and it could then take many more months!!
My question is, has anyone else found themselves in this situation? What is the likelyhood that they will appeal? and also what is the poinnt in the F.O condicting a full investigation and awarding in my favour if it can then just be over ruled? Surely Welcome are not just going to pay me if theres the slightest chance they can appeal and not have to? I thought this was the whole purpose of the F.O?
Any advice/opinions much appreciated.

Hi Stokelady,
As with all things these days, there is always a right of appeal to make things fair for everyone. I know you feel frustrated and annoyed with the whole process, but with any luck, Welcome will just pay you and I hope this is the case. However, if they appeal, hopefully the original claim will be upheld in your favour. Keep us posted of how you get on.
Good luck
RedIf you've nothing decent to say, perhaps you shouldn't say anything.
