Help! I've defrosted too many Meatballs!

Well, best laid plans and all that, last night I thought there was going to be my husband, my son and his friend for tea. My son put his request in for meatballs which I promptly defrosted, roll forward to this morning and the friend has cancelled and my husband has advised due to work he wont be back until gone 11pm and wont want feeding.
I'm fairly sure that if I cook them, I could freeze the leftover ones in some sauce, but just wanted to check with you experts, not worth getting food poisoning over! Many thanks
I'm not a failure if I don't make it, I'm a success because I :tried!

Yes, you can definitely freeze them once they are cooked, as long as they havent been cooked before.
