Where can i buy a ear dropper thing?

Basically i want to use it with olive oil to sort out ear wax, i have made an appointment to get it syringed but want to do this before i go.

Using a spoon is too much messing about, so can i go into maybe lloyds pharmacy and buy an empty dropper like thing?

Or do i have to buy some off the shelf ear wax remover?

  • Hi Calpoze,

Any dispensing chemist should have a stock of the little bottles and droppers in their dispensary alongside the wee bottles they use for dispensing loose tablets. Going back several years to my time in a pharmacy we'd sell them for about 70p. HTH!
  • You can buy them from any high street pharmacy for about £1.00.
  • I just want to know, before i get my ears syringed am i supposed to use drops in my ears to soften the wax?
  • Btw i did go to my local pharmacy and they didnt have any dropper bottles so i guess i will just use a spoon!
  • I got one from the pharmacy in my local Asda
    It's 5 o'clock somewhere!

use a drinking straw if you dont have one
dip it in the olive oil
    finger over the end
then release your finger when it is position

I have just had precisely this problem - and realised that my bottle of Rescue Remedy* has a built-in dropper/pipette in the top.

(I am not needing it for ears, but rather to get fluids into a cat who is off his food and water. It has turned out to be just the ticket as it is very small circumference and there is a little kink in the end to get between his teeth. Yay.)

Probably any of the Flower Remedies have similar but you might need a health food store for them, whereas the RR is available off the shelf in Tesco/Sainsbury's.

You should be able to buy an oral syringe from your pharmacy, this will have the desired effect.
