Gardiner Brothers jewellers

Has anyone ever bought rings from Gardiner's?

I've been looking at eternity rings and saw a nice one in Lunn's but a previous thread on the Forum made me a bit wary. I wondered what Gardiner's were like in comparison in terms of quality and value.

I was told that the ring I was looking at in Lunn's is sourced locally and wondered where they might get them from.

We might also be looking for new wedding bands. Any one know what our chances might be of blagging a discount for buying more than one ring? Forever a moneysaver!

Yes I bought my fianc!e's engagement ring from there. Definitely cheaper than Lunns and they had a fairly good selection to choose from. Remember being told by Ian (the director) that there were 2 prices on rings - one the price they sell them at (wholesale) and the other one was the RRP. There was a bit of a difference between them!!

another vote for gardiners - got both wedding rings there for a fair bit less than a jewellers.
only problem that you might come across is that they don't open on late nights - not sure about weekends either (not a problem if you get a day off in the week).
also you used to have to have a card to get in - we got one from their stall at a wedding fair - again not sure if this still applies.
  • Thanks for the replies.

Anyone know if I can have a look there without needing a card to get in?

We didn't have a card, but then again I think we went on a weekend which was coming up to Christmas a few years ago now (about 3) but I think I did call them and asked if I could come in, almost like making an appointment, but not really if that makes sense?

  • I can't comment on the card situation, but I got my engagement, wedding and eternity rings there. They have a good selection and they can have rings made to your spec., eg with my engagement ring I was able to look at the multiple trays they had and say I like the setting on this ring, the size of the stones on this one and the quality of the stones in another. They are also typically a third cheaper than the insurable value.
  • Does anyone know anything about Joseph Rea jewellers for an engagement ring ? I've heard mixed reports and am thoroughly torn between saving money there or paying more at Lunn's ! Has anyone any experiences or comments re Joseph Rea ? Thanks !

Belfast_MoneySaver, I priced around a bit for my eternity ring last year (not very romantic, but v MSE!) and found Gardiners to be the best for price and their service is always good - I'd try there before going to Lunns.

Gardiners ....everytime....The quality is superb and they stand over any item you buy should a clasp break or anything......have bought 99% of my jewellry from gardiners....I remeber going into Lunns when looking for my engagemnet ring...my budget was £2000 then and what i got in Gardiners for the same price was amazing.
  • Many thanks for your help and advice :)

    Hi All

Just checking if anyone has been to the Gardiners stand at the wedding fayre in the Kings Hall? Do they do additional discount at the show like some of the other venders?
Just wondering if we should look for rings now or wait to the show in Sept!

    Thanks!
