That's a little too personal a question for one stranger to ask another in a public setting, don't you think?
Sorry, I don't think so! I wasn't expecting an exact answer, we are all anonmyous on here so no harm done, if you look in other parts of the forum people actually discuss their job/salary/lifestyle in more detail so I wouldn't say my question was unreasonable, it helps to know some of the facts to give others advice.

Its fine i dont mind any questions, the money i inherited. My income is very low im a full time student at uni so i get a bursary and student loan.
Ahh I see, you suggested a good idea which is worth going with, put the inheritance into a Lloyds Vantage account, just remember to transfer £1k in every month and transfer out again to comply with the funding requirements and keep the balance between £5k-£7k to get the 4%

You may not have intended to receive an exact answer, but the question you asked was specific. I'm aware that some people are happy to post a large amount of personal information here and that is their prerogative (but personally, I think it is ill-advised). Asking for such information is a slightly different situation.

Unfortunately, nobody can guarantee their anonymity on a site like this. In isolation, a few bits of information posted here and there might not seem that harmful, but when taken in the context of a posting history, it could be used to identify an individual. That in itself is no problem. But if that allows someone to find something out about you that you wouldn't want them to know, it becomes worrying. Let me illustrate with an example. A couple of people I work with know that I post here and were able without too much difficulty to deduce my username. That doesn't worry me in itself. However, with that in mind, I wouldn't be so comfortable if I'd posted details like my salary etc. It could have caused some embarrassment.

In the case of the OP - poor student, so no money - no harm done. But it could have been different.
