Nintendo Wii - Game conformation letter ?

I ordered the Nintendo Wii way back when Game started taking orders and paid my £20 deposit, I have found out from a number of people and been told by my local game store that everyone who placed an order with the £20 deposit would get the console for the release date and will have a letter to confirm this. The Wii is for my son's Xmas and he has some friends who received the letter over a week ago but others like ourselves who have not. I have today phoned Game head office and even with my details they could not confirm that we will get it or not but to keep waiting for a letter. I would be very upset for my son if he can not get this so how long do I wait for this letter before trying to order at another store (some hope ?)

wouldn't have thought you'd get one anywhere else now.. i've heard amazon start pre-ordering at the end of the week (in line with the american launch or something) but apart from that i wouldn't like your chances..

when you pre-ordered you should have been given a wii pre order recipt with what number order you were for that store.. do you still have it ? we were 6th within our store and received our letter last monday.

i've heard head office are crap on the best of days.. have you tried speaking to the store direct ?

alright , i work for game (student job) and can confirm the letter encloses a brochure and some basic info on the Wii.

Your son is not missing out. Go to the store and pick it up and they will give you the "letter". You will laugh when you get it.

Hi 2tellyou, I phoned my Game store and they said that they have no idea if we were going to get the Wii on release date and that if the letter was lost in the post then that was just hard luck but they could do nothing about it, and I was told I would find out if I got a call just before the release date. When I spoke to head office they had my house no wrong in one place on their system but correct for my reward card. I am annoyed because they say not to worry because we paid the 20% deposit so "should get it". I would be not like to see my son's face if I did not get his dream Xmas gift.

Game was able to confirm that everyone that pre-ordered and paid the deposit are guaranteed to get a Wii on launch If you have your receipt you can go into game and get a Wii pre-launch pack thing... basically trying to sell you the accessories/games.
