There was some debate on the pigsback thread as to whether this was a free service.. Redrum found this in the T&C's...

As a Founder Garlik Member, once you have received your Service Confirmation, you will be entitled to receive our DataPatrol service free of charge for the first 12 months following your registration as a Founder Garlik Member (the "Service"). At the end of the first 3 months following your registration as a Founder Garlik Member, we shall give you an opportunity to sign up for our upgraded service which will be available for an annual fee. It will be your decision to sign up for the upgraded service, and nothing in these terms and conditions places you under any obligation to do so
  • I've received an email from them now:
We've been unable to verify your details with our credit agency.

As such, we will be unable to provide you with access to Garlik's
    DataPatrol.

We hope to provide additional services in the future, which may be of interest to you.

    We'll keep you posted.

Is this a good thing or not? On one hand, at least it means my ID hasn't been used for credit with companies they check for. On the other, do I even exist if I try to get credit, via them, in the future? :-D

Has anyone been able to join up on this one?

Me and my bf both had the 10% line from them.

    Yes I've signed up.
I got the credit report immediately.
I'm waiting for the other "data patrol" report as that seems to take some time for them to produce but should be ready soon.

I wonder what is causing so many problems with people signing up.

i had same prob i signed up an got letter thru post but that didn't verify me so they said i had to give them bank statement or credit card statement i told them i couldn't coz i don't have a bank account or credit card they told me they couldn't help me then

Find this very worrying to be honest. Surely you should never ever provide a bank statement etc and they should never ask for one, they already have most of your identity.

My address won't verify either but was fine with Experian etc. Say they are going to be in contact again shortly. Seems bizarre to me. The send me a letter to my address with a code that then won't verify?

Anecdotal evidence on this thread suggests that its rather more than 10% of addresses that have problems.

If they ask me for a bank statement or CC statement they won't be getting one.

Also I would have thought that at the very least they should give an indication of what the "problem" with the address actually is. My address will come up on any normal database (Royal Mail etc) and there's nothing odd in anyway about it. We've been here for 9 years too.

By the way when they say they are going to contact me again very shortly do they mean by post or email?
  • I sent off my Bank statements to prove my current address and old address... was a bit sceptical to start with, but emailed them and they said I could black out anything I didn't want them to see, it's just that if you've recently moved, they won't have you on the credit database, and they need proof of your old address to connect you to your new address.

Got the statements back within 5 working days and got my credit report, not looking good however, but nice to know, and now just waiting for the DataPatrol report.

    Seems legit though...

Ah, thanks for that. If its just for address details no problem. Was concerned it meant a complete statement with all the details.

Having not recently moved (unless 9 years is recent!) I will be interested to see what my next communication is and whether they tell me precisely what the address problem is.

Well I have just received an email telling me my credit report is now ready. However logging in still tells me I am not verified and my credit report is not ready.

That to me is not very inspiring. If they haven't verified me how can the credit report be ready? or vice versa? So why have I received the email?

Have had no further contact yet re further verification processes, anyone else?
