Bit of advice?!

Options
Firstly hello :) first post on here.

I recently graduated and have spent 9 months trying to get a job after many a unpaid placement have finally found my ideal job and am due to start on the 21st (thank the lord)!

Unfortunately the wage isn't quite what I wanted but am prepared to look at the larger picture and long term career progression but am looking to try and make a little money extra at the w/e or evening but would prefer to learn from home.

I'm pretty ebay savy, can make a pretty decent website, enjoy photography, sport and all sorts but trying to think a way of actually making some money out of it. I know ebays fee's are so high now but is there anything I should buy and sell or any ideas very, very welcome.

Apologies if this has been asked before.

FYI salary is £15.5k for a graduate position in Bristol.

Cheers,

OJ205

Making money on the side is the name of the game "up your income"!!

First off welcome to the forums!!

If you are ebay savey you already know about the competition thats on there, so unless you have lots of time and money to invest in building a business on there you should take advantage of your website building skills.

There is lots of money to be made by having lots of websites targeting niche markets or if you are very good at search engine optimisation then the mass markets.

You can create useful websites that contain blogs, forums, reviews or a culmination of these on a subject you are passionate and interested in and that you are happy to maintain over a long period of time.

Take this website as an example, it is funded by affiliate links and advertising. In other words once you have your website with interesting subjects that people care about you point them to another website that will interest or benefit them in some way.

You can join affiliate websites who pay you each time a customer visits their site from yours (or your link). Extra is paid if they join or if they pruchase from your affiliate some even give you commision from each subsiquent visit or purchase.

Sky pay about £50 per new subscriber sent to their site from you affiliate link.

Most site large and small have paid for affiliate schemes, just google some like sky, amazon, ebay, Currys, Comet..... you get my drift.

After affiliate marketing comes advertising, you can sign up to many different services that pay per click, Google ad sense etc. All you do is place targeted adverts on your webpages and let the money role in.

Next would be to add a shopping cart to your website with products and services that will interest the people visiting, this can be a bit difficult to do if you have no stock or no money to invest in stock. A way round it would be to find a reliable Dropshipper who has the stock. If your not sure what dropshipping is please google it it would take to long to explain.

And hey presto you have monetize your website.

If I can help any further or you thought this was a waste of time let me know.

    All the best Mobo99.
