EGG Doesn't Work

In the past I have done SBT's from Abbey and Virgin cards to my current account and paid a monthly amount on the balance left on the card. The balance or available credit if you like, left on the card is usually about £200 having transferred say £4800 in cash to my bank account. On this I pay £5 per month. Perfect.

However when doing this with the famous Egg Card, I am charged on the outstanding debt on the card. Ie the whole amount transferred to my bank account, £4750, and am paying £100 per month. What went wrong??

MBNA's minimum payment is 2.25% of the balance or £5 - whichever is the lesser. This is unique in the world of UK credit cards.

Egg's minimum payment is 2% of the balance.
